Scholarship guidelines
The following rules and guidelines were developed & adopted with
the main intent being of maximizing our chances of achieving our overall
objective, which is Grow Worth County.
- Graduating students must apply for the scholarship in their senior year.
- Only those students who live with their biological parent(s) within the
geographic border of Worth County for the entirety of both their junior and
senior years of high school shall be eligible to receive a scholarship.
- This will be a one-time scholarship paid directly to the college, trade
school or institution of higher learning. If the student does not complete
their education, the remaining balance of the scholarship will be returned
to the WCDA Scholarship Trust Fund.
- Students will be allowed a maximum of four years to use the scholarship,
if not used the balance will be returned to the WCDA Scholarship Trust Fund.
- The amount of the scholarships will be contingent upon the amount of
the adjusted gross revenue of the casino from January 1 to December 31 and
the number of graduating students who reside in Worth County.
- The current junior class, the May, 2007 graduates, will be the
first class to receive a scholarship. The amount of this scholarship
will be at a reduced amount since it will be contingent upon a projected
April, 2006 opening date of the casino.
- Students that attend schools outside of Worth County but satisfy
requirement (2) are eligible for the scholarship.
- Students that attend schools inside of Worth County but do not
satisfy requirement (2) are not eligible for the scholarship.
- The above rules and guidelines are subject to change and revision
by the WCDA Board as deemed appropriate in once again trying to achieve
our overall goal of Grow Worth County.
